15 minutes far away from Gaeta, Castellonorato is a village of 300 residents upon a hill which have a domination over Gaeta bay. The Castrum Honorari like Maranola has been founded by Honore 1st of Fondi. Characteristic middle ages village, Castellonorato has a wonderful panorama upon the maritime valley. The castle was defended by an erected tour which dominated the Appias’road, as toward the Cassino road. This structure didn’t prevent his destruction in 1552 during the incursion of Sinan Pascià.
